I appreciated the opportunity to speak at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs on the reality of religious persecution in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine and Russia's purposeful targeting of religious buildings in Ukraine.
In my presentation—now available to watch at the link below—I shared insights into the challenges facing Ukrainian believers, and addressed the spread of misinformation surrounding alleged persecution in Ukraine.
It’s essential that we reject false equivalencies and remain clear-eyed about the stark contrast between Ukraine’s religious policies and the systematic violations perpetrated by Putin’s regime both inside Russia and in occupied territories.
